Is This a Hack?
Peter Thiel used the Roth IRA system to shield billions of dollars from taxation. He did not break any law, even though they might not be as intended. To me, that is a hack that is definitely a hack. But if we believe the rules are there for a reason, then this is a subversion of those rules. And in fact, that seems to be the position that most of us are taking. So we are looking at these hacks as innovations.
