The Impact of Legalization on Drug Use
Opiate use in the United States, 1.04% In Portugal, 0.49%. Cocaine use in US 2.1%. In Portugal,0.2%. Now, is that proof that if we legalize drugs, drug use would drop the United States? No, it isn't. But it does call into question the claim that drug use would rise if we made it. I don't think drug use would go up at all. It's just about where you are on this sort of thing.
