I'm Not Going to Vietnam, I'll Go to the Gyms

In Vietnam, trouble will find you without protection of a powerful employer. I enjoy living in Vietnam but will not return there without the protection of an employer who has set up everything from running an apartment buying a motorbike. Everything as doing it on your own result in some kind of scam. Always frame it that in Thailand, you have to go looking for trouble and there's plenty to find. If you live a normal life type, people will leave you alone and treat you very well as a foreigner.
