The Flame of the Kundalini
The feathers resemble flames coming into those that develop the Kundalini. As the ancient symbolized, the medulla from where that fire rises and develops that fire of feathers is the serpent. If instead of saying feathered serpent, we said flaming serpent, it's the same. It's not an animal.
