How to Slow Down a Conversation

I think we have a tendency to just, just because you can write it quickly, is maybe not something that we should do. I mean, one of the things about Slack and all these other sort of instantaneous things is you feel obliged to answer it right now. Because otherwise it's lost in the history as well. So if we understand that you need to pause, reflect and not just kind of like instantly reply, the other 15 people in the Slack channel maybe aren't going to be as restrained. If you start sharing stuff in a more reflective way, people will see the worth of that and actually probably copy that behavior more.
