The Emirate of Gunada, roared from 1230 by the Nazrid dynasty, remained Moorish for seven centuries. A great testament to Gunada's golden period under the Nazrid's is the Alambra. From 1482, the forces of the most Catholic kings, Fernando and Isabel, known in English as Ferdinand and Isabella, set out to make Gunada part of their kingdom.
