What Is the Legacy of the J-Pow Fed?
J-Powel is very different from his or immediate predecessors in the sense that he was on no one's shortlist a decade before his appointment. He even mentioned that his dream was to be treasury secretary, not Fed chair. That said, he has fit into the role with extraordinary ease. I think he's the finest version of this politician technocrat conception and takes extraordinarily seriously the limits of politics within the Fed.
