The crisis of mass incarceration is not simply a legal or political problem to be solved, but it's a profound spiritual an moral crisis as well. I'm working ot a book that is very different from the new jim crow. It's about my journey going from a liberal civil rights lawyer who was tinkering with the machine to some one who now believes that much more revolutionary change is red.
