On page 80, plate 21B, he shows that this porcelain dish was hand painted. He says it's astonishingly highly regulated workmanship considering that it was done free hand at speed with a brush. It shows the pitch to which practice can bring dexterity. So if you picture a breadboard that's been in use for a hundred years, that's kind of what you get from this image. And so that is 100% age bringing beauty and adding beauty through diversity.
