A second kind of meditation is one in which you're deliberately witnessing in a kind of open, observing way. You're being mindful of your sustaining mindfulness of your stream of consciousness. Even for experienced meditators who are relatively stable in their ongoing quality of presence, it's normal to be swept along from time to time. That's the second type, open awareness witnessing. And then often just tacitly, although i think it’s quite helpful to be doing it a little more deliberately, to engage processes of positive neura plasticity.
