Are We Into a New Cold War?

Neil Ferguson: We're already in Cold War II, and that's been the case for four or five years. As at the beginning of the first Cold War, people in the West have been rather slow in the uptake. People who disbelieved me in 2018 when I said Cold War II had already begun, now seem more ready to listen with a hot war raging in Ukraine. World Wars are a kind of very distinct genre of historical event. If you look at World War I and World War II, there were really multiple wars that just happened roughly at the same time and we then called them World Wars.
