Dubois was convinced he had proven heckel right and found the missing link. He collected every bone and every shell and shipped it to to the netherlands, where it's now still still curated. The shells had been more or less well shelved for a long time, no one really looking at them. But an australian young researcher came and asked if he could photograph all the shells for his p d. So we said, sure, go ahead. And most of the collection is intensely studied - especially the homenon bones.
