The Budget Process
The chancellor announced a shake up of how duty is charged on different kinds of alcohol. Sparkling wines, wherever they are produced, will now pay the same duty as still wines of equivalent strength. The Chancellor said he was going to modernize the system to reflect the way that people drink in the UK. Sam Linter, managing director and head wine maker at Juty Wines says it's difficult for us to buy what we want right now.
