Fortran - The Antithesis of Simplification
Lisp is about as close to a pure distillation of programming as you can get. Fortran, the high and level language that start at all, is the antithesis of simplification. The return stack sounds like a weird decision, but it actually leads to a remarkable simplification. Mahasko canned the fancy computer project that more was working on, and subsequently he quit. In moore's own words, after giving notice, i wrote an angry poem and a book that has never been published.
