Is the Justice Department Trying to Charge Anyone for Sedition or Treason?
I think the common thread is an unanswered question, which is how to hold an individual responsible for a collective event that was far serious than the specific criminal activity that they engaged in. The sense is that they are trying to send a message that this sort of mass event, we'll go punished. And that seems to be the message the justice department wants to send. If you want to send that message that what happened was unacceptable, why wouldn't you charge these people so far with anything like sedition or treason? That's a great question for the us Attorney in washington. It's a choice that they've made.
