How You Do Is Not a Real Question

On a public hike, you're in a place where you can acknowledge other people. But if the next person says, how you doing? I'm already two, three steps in front of you. There's no expectation to carry on the conversation. The how you doing is not a real question. It's a salutation. That's like saying hello. These rules aren't written. If you're a hiker, these are written rules or a walker. They'd be like, listen, that doesn't matter. Disagree.
