How Did Independent Inventors Make Communities?

Independent inventors would band together with their fellow inventors to build social groups o membership organizations, clubs, whatever you want to call it. The franklin institute has been around since the 18 twenties and was a club house for inventors in philadelphia. There were efforts that i talk about in the book, among women's groups and groups of black inventors to publicize the achievements of women inventors or african american inventors. Women couldn't votead and black citizens didn't have very many rights, they could still earn. And this became a method of sort ofa economic and social mobility.
