I attended the initial OPC kickoff meeting by Microsoft way back in 1994. I'm personally glad to see that IT is having a much bigger voice today than it has in the past. With remote capabilities, obviously comes the need for a strong security model. And so when you need computers to be networked together, IT will get involved.
