Is a Land Value Tax a Good Idea?
In Facebook says I think it's a lot more dubious to argue that the people who gave Facebook their data didn't get anything of value out of it. Just in the US at least we have this long history of businesses that are pseudo-public, pseudo-private and they just all end up being huge disasters. That said you can solve some of those problems or align some of those incentives through pretty simple stuff. So on the land side a land value tax does seem like a pretty obvious good idea.
