The Rise of Divorce in America
The year after the divorce colony closed down, a cornell professor analyzed census bureau data and calculated that one in every 12 marriages in america ended in divorce. He predicted that it would be one in two by the end of the century. April white describes a lecture the professor gave to his students in which he said, we are slowly awakening to a new ideal of the family based not upon the subordination the wife.
