What Does It Tell Us About Our Hominins?
Evidence suggests a whole other species of hominin was walking alongside Lucy species in the muddy volcanic ash of Lai Toli at the same time. The coolest thing about this is obviously one more opportunity to say that being up onto legs is really old in our lineage. It's also a pretty fabulous moment because it is an unequivocal moment where there are two hominin species hanging out in the same place.
