What Does Good Conflict Look Like?
i'm partial to a theory of conflict called conflict transformation, which has become the dominant paradime in international peace building work over the last two or three decades. Conflict resolution says, we are going to end this conflict because we don't like conflict. But instead, conflict transformation starts from a different place. It says, conflict is normal. It's a normal part of how societies change for the better. What we would like is good conflict, not bad conflict. And then you start to ask the question, well, what does good conflict look like? How can we tell it apart from bad conflict? A ando provide some intuition about what that question is getting at.
