The Negative Effects of Verbal Abuse on Learning
When kids are raised in abuse, they're not safe. We respond more deeply and quickly to criticism than we do to praise. And so the bad is stronger than good. That means our brain is more enticed to grab onto the bad. These findings counter the way we prefer to think about negative things in our life.
