The Mechanics of Cardiac Myocyte Repolarization
Torsade is essentially, it only arises in the context of a prolonged QT interval. So following a normal sinus beat, the ventricles will repolarize. If a ventricular ectopic beat happens to fall during that repolarization period, then torsade can be triggered. And this event is referred to as an early after depolarization or an EAD.
