The Decline of Base Pay for Food Delivery Workers
Jude says he used to make about $250 a day delivering food on DoorDash. Now, his net income after costs is around $185 for a 12 hour day. New York City's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection found that base pay per delivery had declined by 23% between the first quarter of 2021 and the second quarter of 2022.
