The Boat Shaped Coffins

These coffins were not found in any tomb or sacrificial pit that had been excavated up to that time. The tombs all appear to come from the warring states period fifth to third centuries b c e. It's believed that this burial custom of the boat shaped coffins came from ba state, which was located east of shu and around chong ching.
