The Problem With Sacrifice

When you're giving, and this is the other thing, I guess something I keep on focusing on more and more lately, we have to get away from like the pagan notion of sacrifice. Christian sacrifices form through love and thus is actually loses nothing. If Jesus loses something on the cross, we have problems with Christology. No. Jesus suddenly becomes less himself. You gain God unless you gain everything. And so in giving something up, and like, he's pretty obviously thinking of it from a priestly perspective but I know priests who are much older who do actually a lot during Lent for their disciplines.
