The Treaty of Riga Creates a Polish Nation State With National Minorities
The Treaty of Riga creates, in large measure, defines what kind of states are then going to exist. What you end up getting is a Polish nation state with big national minorities. In Poland, the key question was land, and the difficulty was trying to get the peasants interested in politics. Land reform means you take from people who have more land, give people a less one. The Soviets, at the end of the day, take everyone's land and create collective farming. Even Hitler's ideas that you should invade Eastern Europe and take the land, that's a solution to the land question.
