The Magic of Wax in Ancient Egypt
Wax was used as an embalming agent, light source and artistic medium in ancient egypt. In the pre christian tradition there were also like faces of people burning wax effigies to get a blessing from the gods or defeat an illness. Wax figures can last for centuries if they are placed in the sun - which jen kritsky believes might have been highly rable given god ray's role in mythology.
