Bacon would write notes above the sink in his kitchen so that it was almost impossible for him to not think about the work at hand. Bacon essentially engineered for himself this kind of hyper concentrated Petri dish with pretty much no contaminants of distraction allowed in and also no escape valves. There was nowhere else for his energy and his attention to go other than his canvases.
