This was initially in development during the Titanfall two single player brainstorming sessions. They were also tapping into overwatch with the era stuff, which is really, really smart. And if you never play time fall to you really got to it is so goddamn fantastic. Respawn just took inspiration from Beyonce's way of releasing albums at the time and dropped it as a surprise.
