There are fewer than 10 cases that have been described. There has been one fatality so it has been a low probability event. If this did become widespread in humans, would we anticipate a much higher death rate than say in COVID? It's a big if I know. This virus would start to become transmissible would it be in a reassortant form. And that then may mean that its properties are quite different.
