Three women laughd loudly and brashly at their own murder trial, mostly at the premise presented that they lived in a post sexes society. They were on trial after exuberantly murdering a shopkeeper who harassed a female shop lifter. In 18 98, the black newspaper, the washington b wrote, it is against the law for a black person to laugh at a policeman in the street. The following year, a black woman named louisa roberts was fined two dollars, and patrolman hutchinson arrested her for sassing some white women. There have been cases of women bein arrested and jailed for disrespecting the dead throughout history as well.
