There are a million examples in which we want things to stick. But on the molecular scale, there are some materials that are particularly good at being grippy. And i guess the most obvious one is rubber. It sits somewhere between an elastic solid and a very viscous fluid. This visco elasticity is really what makes it so incredibly useful.
