Grog Büchner wrote a play called Danton's Death. In that play, he referred to suffering as the rock of atheism. The more you succeed in loving, the more you will be convinced of the existence of God and the immortality of his soul. Augustine was a lecture for the Manicaeans but left them because they never answered his question. These answers never made any sense to Augustine.
