How Often Should We Be Getting Repeat EKGs in Patients With Borderline Findings?
The thing that's more powerful than one EKG is another EKG. If you have hyper acute T waves now, and then you repeat that EKG in 15 minutes, you may now see those ST elevations. Sometimes what I get from the cardiology side is, I'm not sure if this patient needs an emergency revascularization. So send off labs, repeat the EKGs in 10 minutes and call me back because if there's dynamic changes, that's going to really change our output.
