CRISPR-Off Turns on Fetal Hemoglobin
There are a number of potential therapeutic uses of CRISPR-off turning genes on. A form of hemoglobin that's only expressed in the fetus is silenced in adult erythic precursors. The gene that controls fetal hemoglobin B-C11a is expressed throughout your metabolic system. If you knock that out, fetal hemoglobin will go on, but you'll then have other defects in other blood types.
