The German Subsidy Program
Japan developed a subsidy program for rooftops that had this interesting wrinkle. It started at 50% and went down to zero over 10 years. The Germans took that too with their subsidy programs. They also adapted from the US, which in the 1980s offered what were called these standard offer contracts.
