The Third Principle of Human Love
The body is the principle of contact between the soul and the world, says St. Thomas Aquinas. Yet he doesn't deny that there is a material element in our human knowledge and our human choices. For this love to be truly human love, it has to be characterized by what is specifically human,. So love must be a choice that's guided by reason and guided by truth.
