When I was doing contracting for natural buildings especially towards the end there in Guatemala where I figured I got into this so that I could be on construction sites and actually be doing some work. As you get to a level where you're running and doing the designs managing sites you end up taking on a very different role. It changed the expectations that I had about perhaps making it a career because I wanted to be more of a worker and an artisan than a manager or business person.
