Pecayor's Reign in the Gilead
Second kings says that the two intervening monarchs, Pecayor and Pekah, ruled for a total of 22 years. We know from Assyrian tribute records that Menahim was ruling no later than 738 BC. The catalyst may have been a sense among the trans-Jordanians that the house of Menahim, safe in the city of Samaria, had abandoned them.
