Is There Anything Different About Story Telling?

i think among professional story tellers, there's not much that i do as when i'm telling a story that's so different from many other story tellers. Using repetition, working with the modulating the voice, pitch, the volume, thete the tempo of the voice. I giving character voices and character expression. generally on the podcast i tell real life stories about my life, kind of anecdotes. Sa, one thing though, which i like, which you do, is you often use e folklore tales. Ar, so what's the benefit of using those?
