The Role of Non-Stimulants in Treating Adult ADHD
Treating ADHD is more than just throwing pills at people. It really is a complex process, isn't it? Yes. Whether you start with a non-stimulant or a stimulant is just going to be based on the clinical profile of the patient and your sense of comfort with the medications. I typically use an adult ADHD self-report scale. Patients can rate this themselves. There's no particular reason to get EKGs. Most of the many of these patients will have true cardiac issues.
