The History of Tokusatsu
Tokusatsu is a word in the Japanese language which roughly translates to special effects or special entertainment. For the most part in Japan Toku is considered to be a catch-all term for any live-action media that features heavy use of special or practical effects. Some Western shows in movies such as battle-stargillactica Doctor Who night-writer and even Thomas the Tank Engine are considered Tokusatsu in Japan. However for the purposes of this video and probably the future of my channel I'm going to be mostly speaking about Toku series made in the east since the Western Tokusatsu fandom Which I am a part of Mostly think of Tokusatsu as looking like this This
