Why Did the World Trade Center Towers Fall?
Despite their reputation, the towers were not physically prepared for an attack like September 11th. There were fatal flaws hidden deep inside the World Trade Center at its birth. The building's designers hadn't properly anticipated tons of burning jet fuel gushing over entire floors across the Twin Towers. Still, the National Institute of Standards and Technology later found that the towers likely would have stayed up.
