A lot of times we will just say okay they're viral likely co-infection is less likely but then if they come back in with an ampaima then that's when you're really stepping it up. I would be very surprised if any kid with a viral pneumonia truly viral pneumonia got any type of ampaima or inoculated pyrulent infection. And certainly we're going to treat them as if it's bacterial whether or not we isolate a pathogen. It's actually very normal for kids to have persistent fevers even with adequately treated pneumonia for several days.
