Keith Whittington is the William Nelson Cromwell, professor of politics at Princeton. He's chairman of the academic committee of the newly minted academic freedom alliance. The AFA has been doing important work defending academic freedom across the country already. We want to advance those principles generally, but we also want to try to defend individuals in specific cases and controversies where their speech rights are coming under assault.
