The OD was an unarmed ceremonial organization reserved for ambitious young men between the ages of 18 and 25. It offered close proximity to the Bund's fuhrer, full access to Camp Siegfried in upstate New York and the promise of a steady wage. For less athletic individuals, the Bund offered other possibilities for economic advancement.
