Arizona Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs was a student leader in her Catholic preparatory school when students took part in a yearly tradition known as slave day. The tradition entails freshman students performing tasks for senior class masters that included performing embarrassing acts of servitude. It is not clear if Hobbs participated directly in the auctions of her fellow students or in the wearing of blackface, which some of them did.
