The Concept of Work in Regulation

Work. is very much specific to the conditions of work in factories and maybe at a particular period of capitalism's development that was a big proportion of capitalistic work but even then it wasn't even then there was tons of outwork going on. This is where the impetus for regulation came and where the concept originated. embedded in the law's conception of work at this time was an understanding of presence within the property of the employer not so much under control in an abstract sense but on the employer's premises using the employer's machinery, she says.
